Burkina Faso left it late to secure their first points of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023.

Burkina Faso and Korea Republic entered their final FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023™ Group E encounter knowing that only pride was at stake for both, with their faint hopes of qualifying having been dashed earlier in the day.

The game appeared to be heading toward a well-contested draw in Bandung, only for Aboubacar Camara to rifle home a late winner and secure Burkina Faso a first maximum of the tournament.

After good early pressing, the Africans opened the scoring midway through the first half. Balde Bah drove through the heart of the Korea Republic midfield and slid in Diarra, who confidently poked the ball through the legs of the onrushing Seongmin Hong.

Korea Republic would level proceedings shortly after half-time. Captain Kim received the ball on the edge of the area and spun his marker to buy himself a yard of space, before curling a shot towards goal which slipped through the fingers of Isidore Traore and into the far corner.

Burkina Faso came close on several occasions following the equaliser and would eventually regain the lead just four minutes from time. Camara was slipped in down the right and, while he had plenty to do, he finished with aplomb, as his shot flew past Hong and into the back of the net.
