As the half wore on, however, Boca began to take control. Edinson Cavani headed wide twice, while Miguel Merentiel, playing against his former club, was twice denied by Weverton. After the break, the Palmeiras goalkeeper frustrated Frank Fabra and Valentin Barco. Late on substitute Dario Benedetto was presented with a good chance, but misdirected his header.
